Interim chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Haddy Ametuo said the inauguration of local government interim management committees was illegal and a breach of the party’s constitution.
Ametuo said in a statement yesterday that the inauguration by Mabo Kashim, who he insisted is not the authentic APC chairman in the state, was a gross violation of the party’s rules.
“The recent kangaroo inauguration of LG interim manage-ment committee of APC by an impostor, who is impersonating the office of state chairman of APC, Mabo Kashim, amounts to illegality and gross indiscipline. To us in APC, Mabo Kashim is a mole. He has always played on the side of PDP. Our own state interim committee headed by Alhaji Haddy Ametou derives its legitimacy and authenticity from the APC national secretariat,” he said.
He therefore urged party members in the state to be patient, saying states congresses and the national convention will soon be held.
Responding, Mabo Kashim insisted that he was inaugurated chairman of the party in the state by national vice chair-man (North Central) of the party in Abuja.
“I don’t like trading words. I was inaugurated by the national vice chairman, North central. The question is; was he inaugurated,” he said.
