The present administration in Kogi State says it is committed to making the State a tourism destination.
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, made the remarks at a meeting with officials of Jumeirah, a United Arab Emirate Investor and their Nigerian Partners, Quality Trend Group of Companies.
The Deputy Governor disclosed that the state tourist sites, made up of historical and colonial monuments as well as other supporting infrastructures needed to make the state a tourist delight are currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Awoniyi disclosed that the sincerity of purpose by which the administration of Capt Idris Wada conducts government business, has enabled the state to attract as well as facilitated the signing of about eleven memoranda of understanding.
The Deputy Governor called on investors to take the advantage of the friendly business environment in the state for investment,adding that businesses have the potential for quick return on investment in the State.
In there separate remarks, Daniel Weihrauch, Director of Sales and Marketing, Jumeirah of UAE and Kabir Ali, Group Managing Director, Quality Trend its Nigerian partner, said there objectives in Nigeria is geared towards building bridges of partnership for development between government’s at all levels in Nigeria and the Government of the United Arab Emirate, especially in the areas of Tourism and Infrastructure development.
Having had useful discussion with Capt Idris Wada, Kogi State Governor during a recent investment Visit to the UAE, the group said there visit was to seek ways for a robust working investment relationship that will assist in the exploration of the rich tourism and infrastructure development vision of the Wada administration.
