The Attah of Igala, Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni II, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to complete the abandoned Bagana-Guto bridge across River Benue in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State to enhance socio-economic transformation of the area.
The traditional ruler who made the call at the weekend in Bagana during his visit to Omala Local government Area said the bridge if completed will reduce drastically hours spent by motorists trying to get into Abuja, the nation’s capital.
According to him, the bridge was flagged off in 2007 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, but was abandoned without explanation from the relevant agencies. He maintained that the bridge is very strategic to motorists from the South-east, parts of the South-south and the people of Kogi State.
