Former Minister of Health under Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration and a Professor emeritus, Prof. Eyitayo Lambo has said that his Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is in disarray because of the numerous challenges the party is being confronted with.
The Professor emeritus made this remarks at Ogori, in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State over the weekend at the funeral ceremony of Madam Florence Tanimowo Apata who died at the ripe at of 85years.
According to him, if the Professor Jerry Gana led reconciliatory committee want to achieve success then they must embark on holistic and genuine reconciliation that will accommodate the views of the majority, noting that the current leadership of the party is not doing enough to promote the party.
He said with the level of civilization and awareness the people has gotten over the years, electorates in Nigeria may not go the way of party any longer, as the individuals standing for such elections might be the yardstick for them to vote.
The former Health Minister said even at the grassroots elections, people no longer vote for party again because they have come to realize that some of these politicians are only out to enrich their pockets instead of providing the much needed dividends of democracy to the populaces.
He said if the APC, put their house in order very well, then the Peoples Democratic Party would have to work hard to victory in the next elections, adding that, in a civilization society, there is room for two party systems whereby the ruling party and other mushroom parties that would always provide the alternative for the people.
He described late Madam Tanimowo Apata as a mother per excellence who loved God during her life time, urging the children and other family members not to depart from her legacy of love and caring.
