Flood: Kogi Government Commences Fresh Sensitization

After the flood that ravaged Kogi State last year, Government has commenced a fresh sensitization on the need for those living in the State to properly ventilate their homes and to avoid overcrowding.

The call which is a warning and an alert to people of the state,was contained In a statement issued in Lokoja, from the Deputy Governors office,Yomi Awoniyi, and signed by the Special Adviser, Environment and Physical Development, and Member State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Barr. Jatto Ladi.

The statement said the State is presently experiencing very hot whether condition, thus making government to be proactive and to issue the early warning call so as to avoid looming epidemics.

The Special Adviser disclosed that the weather according to forecast, would be extremely hot in the coming months, urged people to take the present warning as a precaution to prevent the outbreak of meningitis.

The statement by the Special Adviser, appealed to members of the public to report unusual symptoms, to the nearest hospitals, clinics or medical centres nearest to them for prompt medical attention.
