Kogi State Government has restated its commitment to continuously support the Nigerian Police Force in combating crime and criminality in the State.
The pledge was made by Capt Idris Wada, Kogi State Governor at a National Summit on Security Challenges in Nigeria with the theme: Addressing Nigeria’s Security Challenges for Sustainable Peace and development, held in Abuja.
In a statement issued in Lokoja, the Kogi State Governor,who spoke through his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi at the occasion, noted that the country is currently witnessing several dimension of security challenges which he attributed to neglect of agencies saddled with maintaining law and order over the years.
The Governor however, advocated, discipline, motivation, training and retraining as well as better budgetary allocation and funding to the Nigerian Police and other security agencies to enable them cope with the current challenge .
Capt Wada described Kogi as a peaceful State following a deliberate effort put in place by the present administration to ensure peace.
While describing effective security as a responsibility of all, he pointed out that the State is a safe haven for doing business.
He assured the Nigerian Police Force and other Security agencies in the state of continuous Government support to enable them protect lives and properties.
