Over 400 community development projects worth N1.3 billion have been executed by Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KSCSDA) in its experimental years.

The General Manager of the agency, Mr James Odiba stated this yesterday at the opening of a three-day training and action learning on ‘’Mainstreaming Community-Driven Development (CDD)’’ for Local Government officials in Kabba.

Odiba identified lack of funds as well as absence of political will as the bane of development in rural areas across the country.

He said the agency under the World Bank-Assisted poverty reduction programme pilot scheme between 2001 and 2006 executed projects in education, health, water, roads, electricity and other sectors.

Odiba lamented that the N1.3 billion used to execute 400 micro projects is less than a month allocation local government councils and that more projects would have been executed if they had the political will.
