The Skye Bank on Wednesday said that it would open three additional branches in Kogi before the end of September.

Mr Gbenga Ademulegun, the bank’s Executive Director in charge of Public Sector and Commercial Banking, announced this during a courtesy visit on the Kogi Governor, Capt. Idris Wada.

He said that the decision was to reciprocate and deepen the existing good business relationship between the bank and the state government.

He said that the proposed branches would also move the bank closer to the people.

Ademulegun said that the bank had successfully completed the automation of salaries of civil servants in the state, which had  helped in eliminating ghost workers.

The director expressed the willingness of the bank’s management to help the state develop its internally generated revenue sources.

He said that the state was blessed with lots of resources which could be tapped to develop the infrastructure.

Ademulegun said that the bank was ready to support the state either in public-private partnership or through issuance of  bonds.

Responding, Capt. Wada lauded the bank’s innovative idea on income generation for the state, stressing that the state needed funds to provide water, roads and other infrastructure for the people.

Wada also thanked the management of the bank for their past support and cooperation, saying that he was looking forward to a growing relationship with the bank in the coming years.

He advised the bank to act quickly on its decision to establish three new branches in the state.

The governor advised that the branches should be in strategic locations to serve the people better.
