Nigeria’s Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, met Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in Abuja on Monday to discuss mobilising support in the state for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The talks, held at the governor’s residence, focused on strengthening the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi, working with party leaders and stakeholders, and building on the state’s existing political structures to secure a strong showing for Tinubu in the coming presidential election.

This was made known by Lizzy Okoji, Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Steel Development, in a statement issued on Monday.

Both men reaffirmed their commitment to working together to advance the party’s interests. They said their approach would centre on grassroots mobilisation, strategic engagements and consolidating support across Kogi’s three senatorial districts.

Speaking after the meeting, Audu described Ododo as the party’s leader in the state.

“Governor Ododo is the leader of our Party, APC in Kogi, and the Governor and I are committed to working together with other party leaders and stakeholders across Kogi State to ensure that we deliver a resounding victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” Audu said.

“We understand the importance of this task, and we are determined to mobilise our people and strengthen our structures across the state. Kogi is united in this mission, and we will work together to deliver an overwhelming victory for Mr President,” he added.

Audu said the meeting was part of continuing efforts to deepen collaboration among APC leaders in the state and to ensure effective mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, under Ododo’s leadership.
