The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kabba-Bunu 1 State Constituency in the upcoming House of Assembly election, Barrister Boluromi Emmanuel Funsho, has paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of Igbimo Atuluse Initiatives, where he outlined his legislative agenda and secured the group’s support ahead of the polls.
The meeting took place at the Kabba residence of the group’s president, Barrister Segun Modeyin, who was recently appointed Director of Legal Services at Kogi State University, Kabba. Members of the Igbimo Atuluse executive council were present throughout the engagement.
Addressing the gathering, Boluromi laid out his vision for the constituency and how it would be pursued through legislation. He stressed that lawmaking was a technical undertaking best handled by those trained in and familiar with the law, drawing on his more than 16 years of legal practice and his earlier service as a councillor in Kabba-Bunu Local Government.
Among the priorities he identified was the construction of the Ikowa-Opa road, which he described as one of the first issues he intends to tackle if elected. His broader manifesto also centres on youth and women empowerment, workforce development, economic expansion, community safety, and a range of legacy projects for the constituency.
Boluromi also used the visit to update the group on ongoing reconciliation efforts with fellow aspirants within the APC, assuring stakeholders that his campaign would remain inclusive as the race progresses.
In a significant development, the Igbimo Atuluse leadership informed Boluromi of its plan to organise a public debate involving all House of Assembly candidates ahead of the election. The candidate welcomed the initiative and formally agreed to take part.
Speaking on the visit, the group’s publicity secretary, Hon. Austine Alaba Medaiyedu, commended Boluromi for engaging directly with stakeholders in the constituency. According to him, the visit reflected a willingness to listen and an understanding of the peculiar challenges facing the area, and he expressed the group’s hope for continued dialogue as the electoral process unfolds.
The meeting closed with a symbolic gesture, as President Modeyin presented Boluromi with a customised Igbimo Atuluse face cap in appreciation of the visit.
