Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho), representing Kogi East, has completed Phase One of a lock-up shops project at Ajiyolo Market in Dekina Local Government Area, marking another milestone in the ongoing transformation of the market.
The project forms part of the Senator’s continued efforts to improve the local trading environment, strengthen commerce, and create sustainable economic opportunities for residents of the area.
A statement signed by Mikail Ibrahim said Phase Two of the project is expected to be completed next week, which will further expand the number of modern trading spaces available to traders and entrepreneurs in Ajiyolo and its surrounding communities.
“The lock-up shops initiative builds on Senator Echocho’s earlier construction of 160 open shops at the same market, reinforcing his consistent focus on infrastructure as a driver of grassroots economic growth.
“Beyond the physical structures, stakeholders say the project represents opportunity and economic empowerment. Improved trading facilities are expected to attract more businesses to the market, draw customers from neighbouring communities, boost commercial activity, and contribute to the broader economic development of Ajiyolo and its environs.
