Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna (IJN), member representing the Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has provided financial support to displaced persons from Mozum, Ozugbe and Biroko communities in Mozum District, Bassa Local Government Area, to aid their resettlement and return to their ancestral homes.
The gesture comes at a critical time for families who have endured the hardships of displacement following a communal crisis, including separation from loved ones, disruption of their livelihoods, and prolonged uncertainty away from home.
The lawmaker said representation extends beyond the chambers of the National Assembly.

“It is about standing with his constituents, particularly in moments of hardship and vulnerability.
“The financial assistance is expected to offer immediate relief to the affected families as they return home, reunite with their communities, and begin rebuilding their lives,” he said.

According to Khalid Bala, the intervention further reflects Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna’s ongoing commitment to promoting peace, unity, security, human dignity and sustainable development across the Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency.
For the displaced families, the support represents more than material assistance. It serves as reassurance that they have not been forgotten, a restoration of hope, and confirmation that their elected representative stands with them through difficult times.
As residents of Biroko, Ozugbe and Mozum begin their journey back home, the gesture stands as another example of Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna Ijn’s people-oriented leadership and his determination to ensure that no constituent is left behind.
The cash support was distributed to affected families across the various communities in the presence of the Ohiegba of Mozum and other traditional rulers from the district, alongside community leaders and stakeholders who witnessed the process.
