The Elulu of Mopa and Chairman of the Mopa/Amuro Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Muyiwa Ibeun, has been described as a distinguished traditional ruler whose reign has been marked by unity-building, infrastructural progress, and the preservation of Okun culture.
In a tribute issued today by Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, Secretary of the Council, the monarch was said to have brought a wealth of private and public sector experience, corporate management expertise, and an extensive social network to the throne, qualities the Council said have shaped his approach to royal leadership since his ascension.
“Elulu Ibeun exemplifies the cherished noble honour, graceful carriage, elevated conduct, sound mind, and the characteristic majestic presence of a true royalty,” the tribute stated, adding that the monarch has maintained “commendable traditional dignity, worthy of emulation” among his peers across Okun land.

Since assuming the throne, Araba Rufus Aiyenigba noted, Oba Ibeun has worked to forge unity among his people, improve community infrastructure, foster peace, and safeguard cultural heritage — achievements it said have earned him recognition among fellow monarchs in the region.
Among his notable initiatives is the Elulu Projects and Progress Implementation Committee (EPPIC), described as an innovative platform connecting clans and family heads directly with the traditional institution. Araba Aiyenigba credited the committee with strengthening local peace, integration, and community cohesion in Mopa.
The tribute also credited the monarch’s leadership with elevating Mopa’s profile, calling the ancient Okun town a growing “destination and melting point of cultural renaissance” under his reign.
Aiyenigba, addressing the monarch directly in the statement, expressed pride in identifying with his leadership and prayed for a long, prosperous, and healthy reign marked by continued honour.
“Igba odun, odun kan ni fun yin, l’ase Edumare,” the tribute concluded — a traditional Yoruba blessing wishing the monarch many more years of life.
