The Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, yesterday received a large number of decampees from various political parties into the All Progressives Congress, APC, at Adangere Community in Kogi Local Government Area.

The defection ceremony, which attracted party faithful and stakeholders across the LGA, was described as a significant boost to the APC structure in Kogi West and the State at large ahead of 2027. The event witnessed a carnival-like atmosphere as new members were formally welcomed into the ruling party.

According to the people of Akpasu Ward, their decision to join the APC was borne out of their appreciation for the good works of the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo-led administration. They noted that the governor has not neglected their community in the distribution of democratic dividends.

Speaking on behalf of the community, stakeholders listed some of the projects they are grateful for to include the construction of a Primary Health Care Centre, a modern school, and support for the Rice Mills situated at Akpasu Ward. They said these interventions have directly improved the lives of their people.
