Ahead of the Kogi State NUJ election, the Kogi West Journalists Forum has endorsed Comrade Rotimi Odofin as its sole candidate for the chairmanship of the council.
The endorsement was announced after the Forum’s extraordinary meeting held Saturday at the NUJ Press Center, Lokoja.
Acting chairman of the Forum, Comrade Amuda Dan Suleiman, also known as FAB, urged members to remain steadfast to ensure Odofin’s victory in the upcoming election.
While congratulating members on the decision, FAB charged the chairmanship aspirant to serve as a good ambassador of the Kogi West Journalists Forum at all times.
In his response, Comrade Rotimi Odofin thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to carry everyone along as the council progresses.
He added that if elected, the council under his leadership would experience rapid progress.
Odofin who went through tough scrutiny from members of the forum, assured that he will ensure professionalism and uphold the ethics.
Moving the motion for nomination earlier, Comrade Muhammad Bashir, described Rotimi Odofin as well experience journalist who have been diligent in his duty as media man.
He therefore urged members of the forum to accept Odofin as the sole candidate representing the Kogi West Journalists.
The motion was seconded by Comrade Ahmed Mubarak, and members unanimously adopted the motion making Rotimi Odofin sole candidate from the forum.
