Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho) has distributed bags of rice to families across Kogi East to support constituents in celebrating the Easter season amid prevailing economic challenges.

The distribution exercise, which took place in his residence in Anyigba, captured some selected churches across the nine local government areas, orphanage homes, vulnerable, and political stakeholders.

In addition to food item, the Senator also supported the beneficiaries with cash to ease the transportation of their food stuff.

Hon Okpanachi Abubakar, who represented the Senator, said the initiative reflected Senator Echocho’s commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

“This gesture is part of Senator Echocho’s desire to ensure that families are able to celebrate Easter with joy despite the economic realities facing many households,” Okpanachi said.

An executive of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) from Omala Local Government Area, Pastor Yusuf Cornelius, said the distribution had strengthened the bond between the senator and his constituents, regardless of political or religious differences.

He stated that this is his first experience in the history of Kogi East, where a Senator will extend gesture to Christians during Easter season. He prayed that God Almighty continued to strengthen him and grant his heart desires.

Some beneficiaries who spoke during the exercise expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and helpful in easing the burden of the Easter celebration.

Senator Echocho extended his Easter greetings to his constituents, urging them to embrace peace, love, and unity during the season.
