Hon. Emmanuel Ocholi Idachaba has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Idah Federal Constituency (Ofu, Igalamela-Odolu, Idah and Ibaji LGAs) under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The accomplished scientist, technocrat, and seasoned administrator made his declaration while reaffirming his huge loyalty to the leadership and developmental vision of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
Hon. Idachaba described Governor Ododo’s administration as one committed to grassroots development, inclusive governance, and economic growth across the state. He pledged his full support for the governor’s policies and programmes aimed at consolidating progress in the state.
As part of his political engagement, Hon. Idachaba currently serves as the Idah Federal Constituency Patron of the ODODO SEASON 2 Grassroots Network Campaign Organisation, where he has been actively mobilizing political support and providing financial backing toward strengthening the governor’s re-election movement across the constituency.
Speaking on his aspiration, Hon. Idachaba noted that his decision to seek elective office is driven by his passion for service, his extensive professional experience, and his desire to bring effective representation and sustainable development to the people of Idah Federal Constituency.
“With my background in science, industry, administration, and public-private partnerships, I believe I have the capacity to provide pragmatic leadership and effective representation for our people at the National Assembly,” he stated.
Hon. Idachaba has been politically active since the era of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), where he served as a delegate representing Idah Local Government Area at the 2010 ACN National Convention in Benin City. He later served as a member of the Kogi State Bureau for Public-Private Partnership Board in 2017, representing Kogi East.
A graduate of Chemistry from the University of Maiduguri, Hon. Idachaba also holds a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Explosives from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, where he is currently pursuing a PhD in the same field.
Over the years, he has built a distinguished career spanning the defence industry, automobile manufacturing, logistics, and industrial production. He has served in reputable organisations including Arewa Textiles Plc, Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN), ANAMMCO, Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) and the University of Abuja (now Yakubu Gowon University).
Hon. Idachaba is widely respected for his multidisciplinary expertise, strategic leadership, and commitment to public service.
Political observers in Kogi East note that his declaration is expected to further strengthen the APC’s grassroots mobilization in Idah Federal Constituency ahead of the next general elections.
Hon. Emmanuel Ocholi Idachaba is married to Mrs. Martha Ojomah Idachaba, and their union is blessed with three children.
