The Kogi West for Tinubu and Karimi Reelection Project (KW, TAKREP) has dismissed the alleged vote of no confidence reportedly passed on Sunday Karimi by some ward chairmen of the All Progressives Congress in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, describing the move as a sponsored attempt to create disaffection within the party.

In a reaction issued to journalists, the group said the communiqué circulating in the media was a politically motivated document designed to undermine the credibility and growing influence of the senator across Kogi West Senatorial District.

The group argued that the claim that Senator Karimi was acting against the interest of the party was misleading and inconsistent with the political reality within the district.

According to KW, TAKREP, the senator continues to enjoy strong grassroots backing across the local government areas that make up Kogi West, including Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West, Mopamuro, Lokoja, Koto Karfe and Kogi Local Government Areas.

It maintained that the development appeared to be the handiwork of certain political actors who feel threatened by the senator’s rising popularity and the increasing support he has continued to attract among party members and constituents.

The group also dismissed allegations that the senator was sponsoring shadowy groups to attack party leadership, insisting that such claims were unfounded and part of a deliberate effort to distract the public from the senator’s advocacy for fairness, justice and equity in the political affairs of the state.

KW, TAKREP further stated that the purported communiqué does not reflect the views of the majority of APC members in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area and should therefore be disregarded by the public.

The organisation reiterated that the people of Kogi West remain politically conscious and will not be swayed by what it described as sponsored propaganda aimed at undermining credible leadership within the district.

It added that its members would continue to mobilise support for Senator Karimi, expressing confidence that the people of the district would continue to stand firmly behind what it described as purposeful and courageous representation.
