ODA Urges Govt to Support Egbeda-Egga Community After Devastating Rainstorm Renders Many Homeless

The Okun Development Association (ODA) has sent an appeal to government agencies and philanthropists to support Egbeda-Egga community in Ijumu local government area of Kogi state after a devastating rainstorm wrecked havoc in the community.

In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Thomas, the Association urged all stakeholders to provide shelter, food, and medical aid to those in need.

The rainstorm destroyed over 40 houses, churches, and businesses were also affected, leaving many families without homes or livelihoods.

“We believe that collective efforts can help alleviate the suffering and rebuild the community,” the statement read.

ODA expressed sadness by the immense loss and hardship caused residents of Egbeda-Egga community by the disaster.

“We stand in unwavering solidarity with the affected families and individuals, acknowledging their pain and struggles. Our thoughts are with those who have lost their homes and livelihoods, We pray that they find comfort and strength in this difficult time,” the statement added.
