Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, has being issued a letter of commendation for an outstanding ministerial excellent corporate performance and public service ethics compliance 2025/2026 from the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation, an international non-governmental organization.
Presenting the letter to the Commissioner on Wednesday in Lokoja, the Executive Director Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation, Prince. Salih Musa Yakubu said the Commissioner has continued to sustain the expectations of the organization in terms of performance and leadership anchored on integrity and ethical uprightness.
He noted that in line with the organization’s assessment the Ministry of Education ranked one of the top twelve most ethically responsible ministries in the state during the 2025 assessment.

According to him, upon the conduct of the undercover independent secret assessment of the entire MDAs and LGAs in Kogi State under the current administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Ministry has ranked amongst the top ten State Ministries of Education in Nigeria and qualified to receive the commendation based on Public Perception Index (PPI).
Prince Salih said that in view of the impressive performance and corruption free public conduct of the Commissioner, the NGO has approved to go into partnership with the Ministry towards mobilising resources to build the capacity of six thousand teachers across the twenty-one Local Government Areas in the State.
The organization also awarded the Ministry the “Ministerial Performance Efficiency Certificate” for being functional and outstanding in ethical uprightness, corporate integrity, ethical compliance, staff/students discipline , participatory leadership style, effective monitoring and supervision of schools, stakeholders management, SERVICOM compliance, fiscal discipline, innovative management and due process application with in the period under review.
Speaking, the State Commissioner for Education thanked the organization for recognizing excellence and promised that the recommendation would spur him to put more effort in the service of the state.
He appreciated the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the opportunity given him to serve and his dedication towards ensuring that learners in the state have access to quality and affordable education.
He promised to strive to make sure that government policies in education are implemented for the overall benefits of the State.
The Permanent Secretary, Mr Alabi Albert Bamigbade also received the Public Service Ethics Compliance Ambassadorial Award in recognition of his integrity, emotional intelligence, time management culture, office attendance, bureaucratic compliance and ethical uprightness in the management and administration of the ministry.
The Commissioner was represented by the Permanent Secretary Mr Alabi Albert Bamigbade.
