No denying the fact that, Ramadan and Lent are periods of impassioned reflection and renewal.

In a moment like this, Muslims and Christians the world over use Ramadan to re- examine their relationship with Allah, while Christians use lent to reflect on their relationships with God respectively.

Few hours ago, Muslims across the globe were ushered into the holy month of Ramadan which also coincide with the Christian Lent.

Without doubt, millions of Muslims and Christians around the world usually observe these periods of fasting, which are often times a moment for sober reflection, and spiritual renewal.

In order to further re- echo the essence of the period, Asiwaju Engr. (Dr.) Prince Olatunji Olusoji noted that Ramadan and Lent are not merely periods of abstinence from food, luxuries and drink but season of uncommon compassion and love, fostering self – discipline, spiritual growth and bridge building.

According to Asiwaju Olusoji’s word of admonition, while the two faiths have distinct traditions and practices, there are, of course, glaring similitudes between Ramadan and Lent.

He thus further stressed that both Ramadan and Lent stand on three cardinal tripod –

† Time for charity and giving without boundary.

† Practice of Kindness

† Time for Forgiveness

During this period, Prince Olatunji Olusoji consequently, urge both faithfuls to deepen their understanding of each others traditions, values and foster greater respect, empathy, and cooperation.

Prince Olatunji Olusoji emphasized that these traits are God’s mindset for humanity, which can only guarantee the required blessings in obedience to God’s instruction that we can serve the holy months of Ramadan and Lent.
