Respected Kogi elder statesman, Chief Frank Ayedun, says with determination and unity, Okun land can achieve greatness.

Chief Ayedun, who was governorship candidate of Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in the old Kwara State in the 1983 elections, assured Okun nation that their time to take over Lugard House will come soon.

He made this known when he played host to the high delegation of Okun League of Progressive Elites (OLOPE) in his Ilorin office.

“The calibre of personalities driving the Okun Agenda, piloting the return of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, especially with the visiting OLOPE team, shows we’re on the cusp of something big.

“I am convinced Okun will get that governor seat in 2031, but let’s keep our eyes on the prize and stay committed. No backing down!,” he said.

OLOPE delegation was led by the duo of Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd) and Barr Alfred Bello. Others in their company are Prince Sesan Orebiyi, Chief Shuaib Ipinmisho, Chief Eric Fiki, Hon Nathaniel Ojo Taiwo amongst others.

Chief Ayedun said OLOPE is not not just fighting for a political position, but fighting for their rights as a nation.

“It is time we take our rightful place and show the world what we’re capable of. The journey won’t be easy, but with determination and unity, we can achieve greatness,” he stated.

He emphasized that Okun must stay vigilant and committed. That the road to 2031 is long, and there’ll be challenges.

“We’ll face doubters, obstacles, and maybe even internal disagreements. However, with solidarity and focus, we’ll overcome them.

“To everyone involved in this project, let’s keep pushing! Let’s keep mobilizing, strategizing, and supporting one another. Our time is now, and we won’t let it slip away.

“Let’s unite, stay focused, and make history. Okun’s moment is here,” concluded Frank Ayedun.
