The Chairman of Okehi Local Government Area, Hon. Amoka Eneji Monday, has taken decisive action following the abduction of a retired Policeman and his son, a woman and two of her children in Usungwe community of Okaito/Usungwe Ward on Tuesday evening.
According to the Chairman, the council received a distress call late yesterday, prompting an immediate and coordinated response.
Hon. Monday personally led a team of security operatives into the bush and surrounding areas to commence a search operation aimed at rescuing the victims without delay.
He assured residents of Usungwe and the entire Okehi LGA that the administration remains fully committed to protecting lives and property, emphasizing that criminal activities will never be tolerated within the local government.


So far, Efforts have been made to apprehend suspects to support the ongoing investigation in the forest.
“Okehi LGA will not serve as a refuge for criminals. Anyone involved in this criminal act, or connected in any way, will face the full wrath of the law,” Hon. Monday stated firmly while on the ground with the operatives.
He further explained that the operation aligns with the directive of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who has made security a top priority across the state.
The Chairman reaffirmed that the council will continue to take the fight against crime directly to the hideouts of criminal elements, even deep inside the forests.
