The Kogi Equity Roundtable (KER), a prominent advocacy group, has reactivated its campaign for power rotation and political fairness in Kogi State, focusing on Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke as its preferred candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election.

In a statement attributed to Pastor Stanley Ajileye, Director General of KER, following an extra-ordinary meeting of the council held Sunday night, the platform explained that it had been at the forefront of the struggle for equity and balanced leadership across the state’s three senatorial districts since its establishment in 2014.

KER had supported the Audu/Faleke political structure, which led to the emergence of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as governor in 2015. The group noted that it had consistently appealed to the Kogi State House of Assembly to formulate a clear and equitable model for power rotation among the three senatorial districts, but this call was ignored.

As the state approaches another critical decision, KER is now focusing on Faleke, citing his popularity and acceptability across the state. The group is engaging with various stakeholders to advance socio-political justice in Kogi State, while also acknowledging that former members who no longer align with its ideals are free to leave.

KER stated that admission into the platform will now be based on request, and only tested and trusted individuals of high integrity will be admitted. The reactivation of KER’s campaign marks a new chapter in the group’s pursuit of fairness, balance, and inclusive governance in Kogi State.
