The Acting National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr. Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe, has on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC) and entire members of the party, nationwide, commiserates with Prince Adewole Adebayo, the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, on the passing of his mother-in-law, Mama Margaret Omugbe, which occurred on Wednesday.
In a statement issued by Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, National Publicity Secretary, the party noted that Mama Margaret Omugbe’s life was well-lived as a community leader and devoted Christian, and she is greatly celebrated for her virtues of love, compassion and integrity, and the many lives she impacted through her humanitarian works.
“Mama Margaret Omugbe has undeniably made glorious contributions to societal advancement and national development through her glorious bequests of illustrious offsprings like the Queen of Hearts and a foremost Nigerian philanthropist, Queen Lilian, wife of Prince Adewole Adebayo, among others.
“The Party shares in the grief of the Prince Adewole Adebayo family during this difficult period.
“We pray that Mama’s great soul finds repose in the bosom of the Lord, and may her noble legacy continue to inspire her children unto greater societal impact.
“We pray that God grants Prince Adewole Adebayo and his family the fortitude to bear this great loss. May you continue to be strengthened by God as you strive for the betterment of Nigeria and the common good,” the statement added.
