The member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Salman Idris has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the President of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the appointment of Professor Joash Amupitan.
In a statement personally signed by the Honourable member, he commended the President for appointing Prof. Amupitan as the first INEC chairman from Kogi State and North Central Nigeria.
Hon. Salman described the choice of Professor Amupitan to head INEC as an excellent one citing his diligence, dedication to service and uprightness. He believes Amupitan will bring the needed reforms to INEC which Nigerians have been yearning for.
Professor Amupitan, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the prestigious University of Jos and the Pro-Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Osun State.
An expert in Company Law, Law of Evidence, Corporate Governance and Privatisation Law, he was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in September 2014
Professor Amupitan hails from Ayetoro-Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
