Special Adviser on Youth and Student Matters to the Governor of Kogi State, Hon. Oladele John Nihi, has expressed profound appreciation to Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for signing the bill restricting heavy duty trucks from passing through the metropolis during the day into law.

In a statement issued in Lokoja on Friday evening, Nihi said the law is a direct response to the pleas of Kogi State students and residents, who have long been clamoring for relief from the dangers posed by heavy duty vehicles on the roads, particularly on the Felele axis.

He stated that Governor Ododo’s commitment to listening to the needs of his people and taking decisive action is truly commendable.

“The signing of this bill into law is a testament to Governor Ododo’s dedication to the welfare and safety of Kogi State citizens, especially our youths. I am delighted that the Governor has prioritized the concerns of our students and taken concrete steps to address them.

“I also commend the Governor for signing six other significant bills into law today, including the Climate Change Law, Commodity Exchange Export Law, and the Law establishing the Bureau of Lands, among others. These laws will undoubtedly contribute to the development and progress of our great state,” he said.

Nihi described Governor Ododo for being a people-friendly leader who truly cares about the welfare of Kogi State citizens.

“Once again, I express my gratitude to Governor Ododo for his tireless efforts in making Kogi State a better place for all its citizens.

“I urge our youths to continue to take advantage of the opportunities being created by this administration and to work towards the progress and development of our state,” he added.
