A marketing consultant and Founder of Firstmade Foundation, Mr Olufemi Olusanya, has called on governments at all levels to urgently overhaul the security architecture of Yagbaland in response to the recent surge in insecurity across the region.
Olusanya made the call while addressing newsmen in Yagba on Saturday. He expressed deep concern over the growing rate of kidnappings and other criminal activities, noting that the situation has become a source of fear and frustration for residents.
He urged the Kogi State Government and relevant federal security agencies to intensify efforts towards ensuring the safe release of individuals currently in captivity.
“We can no longer pretend all is well. Our people are no longer safe in their farms or even in their homes. I urge the government to rejig the entire security structure in Okunland and act swiftly to restore peace and confidence in our communities,” he said.
Olusanya, who is also the Founder Firstmade Community Drive Foundation, a non-governmental organisation known for its humanitarian interventions, stressed that insecurity is a major threat to development,Sports, education, and economic livelihood in the area.
While commending the Kogi State Government for its developmental strides, especially in infrastructure and rural empowerment, he appealed for more proactive and community-driven approaches to security management.

“The present administration has done commendable work in areas of development, but the efforts will be undermined if security is not guaranteed. Our people need to feel safe again,” he added.
He called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and youths to collaborate with security agencies by providing timely information and fostering peace within their domains.
