Yeye Oge of Okun Land, Chief Omoleye Aiyelabowo has called for concerted efforts to deepen cultural values in the society.
Yeye Oge made the call in while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday on this year’s edition of Ile’ya Omo Okun (homecoming) cultural festival.
She said the 5th edition of the cultural festival holding on December 28 at Johnny’s Event Centre, Kabba, seeks to “raise champions for our generation and the generations to come.”
She noted this year’s 5-in-1 edition is turbo-packed with a lot of exciting activities that seeks to promote the rich culture of Okun people.
“This year’s 5-in-1 edition will feature Omidan Oge beauty pageantry, Zeetia Cares, Iya Ni Wura special recognition, Ogo Okun Awards and Okun Super Cook contest.
“We hold the firm belief that Nigerians need to always champion their cultural heritage for the world to see.
“Sustenance of our culture lies greatly in the hands of all sons, daughters and well wishers of Okun land who sees development and growth as a paramount objective for nation building,” she said.
Yeye Oge urged cultural enthusiasts to subscribe fully to promoting Nigeria indigenous culture, adding that the 5th Edition of Ile’ya Omo Okun is a course for action plan towards the pursuit of the people’s objectives through the cultural leadership event.
