2027: Yahaya Bello Building APC for Formidable Outing in Kogi – Onogwu

Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Public Relations, Barr. Muhammed Isah Onogwu, has has described All Progressives Congress (APC) as the only ‘living’ political party in Kogi state.

Reacting to Sunday visits to top political figures from the state by a former Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the image maker said APC is gaining more strength every day in Kogi.

He applauded Bello for working closely with stakeholders to position APC for a formidable outing in the 2027 general elections.

“As political alignments and realignments ahead of 2027 continue to gather pace, efforts to strengthen existing structures are equally gaining momentum. In Kogi State, former Governor Yahaya Bello is working closely with stakeholders to position the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a formidable outing.

“In the spirit of unity; irrespective of party affiliation but for the overall good of the State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, alongside his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, CON, paid a courtesy visit to former Governor Captain Idris Wada. Widely respected for his exemplary lifestyle and contributions to Kogi State, Captain Wada warmly received his successors at his Maitama residence in Abuja on Sunday evening. The meeting focused on fostering peace, unity, and cooperation for the collective development of the State.

“Similarly, Governor Ododo and former Governor Bello also paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Joseph Leke Abejide, Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency under the African Democratic Party (ADC). Discussions centred on building a united political front ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the aim of consolidating strength and attracting greater development opportunities for the State.

“The APC in Kogi continues to demonstrate its dominance, with the governor, two out of three senators, seven out of nine House of Representatives members, 24 members of the State House of Assembly, 21 local government chairmen, and 239 councillors under its fold. This strength was further reaffirmed with today’s victory in the Assembly by-election,” he said.

Onogwu added that with the collapse of the People Democratic Party (PDP), APC is busy receiving members from opposition parties into its fold across Kogi state.
