In developed clime, the yardstick to gauge and reward good performance of lawmakers is endless reactivation.

In Nigeria, we dwell more on minute considerations and conjectures — tribe, federal character, religion, gender, rotation etc in electing leaders rather than rewarding exemplary performance.

As 2027 continue to fast – forward like never before, Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu constituents are resolute in their determination to re- elect the incumbent House of Representatives lawmaker, who they perceived to have out – stripped their expectations.

For this unrepentant apostles of continuity, Hon. (Arc) Salman Idris is on a trajectory that has re- defined legislative assignment, thereby ensuring steady societal progress and development, service delivery and people – oriented initiatives.

Due to his very distinct style of affecting lives positively, market women have had their fair – share of his magnanimity, parents who are less – endowed financially have nothing but praise and gratitude for his impact, also the remotest villages that have been ostracized from enjoying dividends of democracy are beginning to have a sigh of relief due to Salman’s reaching their door-steps with laudable imprints etc.

Where parameters required are largely related to performance indices like provision of portable water, rehabilitation of roads and bridges, facilitation of health care centres, construction of schools fully equipped, creating an enabling environment for would – be investors, taming insecurity in the bud, employment generation etc, Salman Idris is a top contender for the accolades and therefore, should be given the benefit of the doubt to continue the good work he has started.

Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency is on a trajectory never witnessed before. It is, therefore, incumbent on us to galvanize support for Salman Idris come 2027.

It is the appropriate time to move away from myopic considerations and take our destiny in our own hands.

If we re- elect Hon. Salman Idris, it will uplift the pains and challenges of the less vulnerable in the society and cement our place in political history as upgrading from decadence to economic recovery and prosperity.
