A coalition of constituents from Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency, under the banner of Good Governance Advocates, who have issued a seven-day ultimatum to renowned philanthropist and community figure, Prince Gowon Enenche (popularly known as G-One), to declare his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat in 2027.
Addressing an extraordinary gathering of stakeholders drawn from across the constituency on Wednesday, the group warned that failure by Prince Enenche to formally declare for the position within the stipulated timeframe would compel them to initiate legal action.
The group’s leader, Hon. Mohammed Y. Yusuf, who spoke on behalf of the coalition, described the demand as firm, deliberate, and irreversible.
“Our demand is simple, clear, and unambiguous,” Hon. Yusuf declared. “Prince Gowon Enenche must declare for the position of Member, House of Representatives, Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency, for the 2027 general elections—God sparing our lives—within seven days from today, the 18th of December, 2025, or face legal action.”
He explained that the ultimatum followed weeks of widespread public agitation and sustained calls across social media platforms urging Prince Enenche to step forward and offer himself for service.
According to him, the constituents had exercised patience and restraint, waiting for a voluntary declaration that never came.
“Social media has been agog for weeks with calls on G-One to give this position a shot. We waited anxiously for his response, but to no avail. We have now resolved to take decisive steps,” he said.
Hon. Yusuf emphasized that the decision was collectively taken by people from all walks of life within the constituency, including elders, women, youths, and professionals who are united by a shared desire for quality representation and good governance.
“This is not the action of a few individuals. These are the voices of fathers, mothers, uncles, aunties, youths, and stakeholders who are genuinely passionate about the future of our constituency,” he added.
In a tone that underscored the seriousness of the group’s position, the coalition insisted that Prince Enenche had no option of declining their call.
“G-One is our son, but this ultimatum is not an empty threat. Our legal counsel has already been briefed, and contributions are being mobilized should we not hear from him after seven days,” Yusuf stated.
The group further justified their demand by highlighting Prince Enenche’s long-standing humanitarian and developmental interventions across the constituency, stressing that his impact has been felt far beyond the realm of politics.
“Prince Gowon Enenche has touched our lives outside politics. We want him to go into politics and do even more for our people,” the group noted. “We want a representative who does not depend on politics for survival, but one who sees public office as a platform for service.”
As the 2027 general elections gradually come into focus, the coalition declared unequivocally that the people of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency have made their choice.
“This time around, the people want Prince Gowon Enenche, G-One to represent them,” the statement concluded.
The coming days are expected to be decisive as political observers watch closely to see how Prince Enenche responds to what many have described as one of the most forceful grassroots calls for political participation in the constituency’s recent history.
