Entrepreneur and philanthropist, Prince Gowon Enenche, popularly known as G1, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2027 National Assembly elections.
Prince Enenche made the declaration amid growing support from stakeholders, youths and community leaders across the constituency, describing his ambition as a call to service anchored on divine purpose and people-centred leadership.
“My people, it’s about time we get it right. This is a divine mandate, a project that cannot be foiled. It is about putting my people first,” he stated.
Reaffirming his philosophy of governance, he added, “Public office must serve as a platform for measurable impact, responsible stewardship and inclusive development.”
Born over three decades ago in Imane, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, Prince Enenche hails from a respected lineage. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Yusuf Mai-Photo Enenche, with paternal roots in Imane and maternal heritage in Angwa Ankpa.
He began his early education with Islamic studies in Kano before attending Imane Central School for his primary education. He later proceeded to Saint Charles College, Ankpa, and Imane Community Grammar School (ICGS) for his secondary education.
Driven by a passion for governance and leadership, he obtained a degree in Political Science from Kogi State University, where he actively participated in student leadership and organisational development initiatives.
After completing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Prince Enenche began his professional career in the banking sector, serving at Bank PHB and later at Fortis Microfinance Bank, where he gained experience in financial management and investment strategy.
He subsequently ventured into mining, livestock management, automobile trading, real estate and property development, consolidating his interests under the G1 Group of Companies, where he currently serves as Chairman. Under his leadership, the conglomerate has reportedly created employment opportunities and stimulated local economic growth across multiple sectors.
Beyond business, Prince Enenche has distinguished himself through extensive philanthropic initiatives. His interventions include the fencing and remodelling of Imane Community Grammar School (ICGS), sponsorship of WAEC registration fees for indigent students, empowerment of over 100 youths through computer training programmes, and humanitarian assistance to widows and vulnerable families.
He has also constructed an ultramodern hospital to enhance healthcare access, built a modern Civil Defence office to strengthen local security, and established a Skill Acquisition Centre in Okpo to equip youths and women with vocational and entrepreneurial skills.
Additionally, through the Life Seed Ultimate ICT and Career Development Summer Bootcamp 2025, he aims to train 250 Nigerian youths in technology-driven and career-oriented competencies.
In recognition of his grassroots development efforts, he was appointed Patron of the Arewa Grassroots Leaders Assembly (AGLA).
