In a thunderous display of unity, the people and political leaders of Mopamuro Local Government Area, have thrown their weight behind Hon. Leke Abejide, Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, for a third term in the House of Representatives, come 2027.

The 1000 Men Road March Pass rally, organized by Hon. Yomi Charles, ADC Leader in Mopamuro, in collaboration with APC leaders, saw thousands of supporters from across party lines.

They include Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, Kogi Commissioner for Information and Communication, and other prominent politicians, marching through the streets of Mopa, Amuro, and Ijagbe.

The rally was a testament to Abejide’s effective representation and the people’s desire for continuity.

“You don’t change a performing player on the field,” declared the leaders, citing Abejide’s impressive track record, including paying WAEC fees for students, supporting women and widows, and developing road infrastructure.

Mopamuro LGA Chairman, Hon. Demola Bello, assured that the three Chairmen of Yagba Federal Constituency comprising Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro, are united behind Abejide.

Fanwo said that Mopamuro is solidly behind Abejide’s third term bid, dismissing opponents as mere contestants in a “contestation of will” that Abejide will win.

Fanwo emphasised that Abejide’s party affiliation is irrelevant given his proven track record.

“We come in peace, but we mean business. When somebody is a performer, his party does not matter.

“Abejide has built a generation that is now coming out,” Fanwo said, highlighting the impact of Abejide’s efforts.

Fanwo urged supporters to show solidarity with Abejide, citing his achievements, including paying WAEC fees for students since 2017 and touching every home in Yagba Federal Constituency.

He appealed to opponents to join forces, saying, “We are their brothers, we are their blood. Don’t give your money to political contractors.”

Fanwo assured that APC will deliver 100 per cent support for Abejide in Mopamuro, predicting victory in 2027.

“We are winning this local government for Abejide, and he will be welcomed into APC soon. The Mopamuro people have spoken: 100% for Abejide, come 2027, by God’s grace,” he said.

Chief Yomi Charles, ADC leader in Mopamuro, also declared his support for Abejide’s re-election, citing his performance.

Charles announced that he and his team are joining APC to back Abejide, saying, “It’s not about politics or party; it’s about performance.”

“We want progress, not rotation. Abejide is the best candidate. It’s about performance and continuity,” he emphasized

Charles thanked supporters and community leaders for their backing and support for Abejide, promising 100 per cent delivery in Mopamuro.

Dr. Amb. Samuel Babatunde Esanuaje, a party leader, said Abejide is a household name in Amuro, known for his impactful projects.

Esanuaje highlighted Abejide’s mega water project, which has solved water scarcity issues in his ward in Amuro.

He also cited Abejide’s support for education, farming, empowerment, and cooperatives, and urged supporters to retain him.

He assured that Abejide will attract more development to Mopamuro and Yagba if re-elected.

“Abejide is growing and performing well. It’s just normal to retain somebody who is growing and performing well.

“Let’s give him our block votes, and we’ll have the right to demand our share of development,” Esanuaje said.

Hon. Kunle Abogun praised Abejide’s capacity and performance.

Other participating leaders included Hon. Sunday David Alumo, former Mopamuro LGA Chairman; Hon. Kayode Williams Sogo, ex-Chairman; and Hon. Bukola Obajemu, former Vice Chairman; ward chairmen,Mr Babatunde Moses, Barr. Emmanuel Ayo, Hon. Jacob Abraham, among others.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 1,000-man march began at Odole community, Mopa, traversed major streets in Mopa and Amuro, and ended in Ijagbe community.

The people of Mopamuro have spoken: they stand united behind Abejide, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and President Bola Tinubu, seeking a second term for the duo.
