The Ododo Season 2 Project Campaign Group has faulted the recent outburst by the Senator representing Kogi West, Senator Sunday Karimi, during the Kabba Day celebration last weekend.

The group described Senator Karimi’s call for an alliance between Kogi West and Kogi East senatorial districts to unseat Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in 2027 as a big joke, stressing that the “Senator spoke as a lonely voice in the wilderness and not as a representative of the Kogi Westerners or the people of Kogi State”.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Convener, Patriot Matthew James Omeiza, stated that the mandate freely given to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has already translated into visible projects across the state, delivered without any sentimental or tribal colouration.

He emphasized that the people of Kogi have already spoken through the massive endorsement of both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the state capital, affirming that “our mandate is secure with Ododo, and on that mandate we stand.”

Patriot Omeiza urged Senator Karimi to concentrate on his legislative responsibilities and deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituents, rather than heating up the political atmosphere when the time for succession politics has not yet arrived.

He further noted that Kogi Westerners have benefitted immensely from the present administration through appointments and infrastructural projects, most notably, the establishment of the Kogi State University, Kabba, which he described as one of the greatest blessings to Okun land.

He concluded by stating that any form of political negotiation or alliance talk should only come up after Governor Ododo has successfully completed his second term in office as duly elected by the good people of Kogi State.
