Dr. Toyosi Akure, the Founder of the Toyosi Akure Foundation and a renowned philanthropist, has disclosed his year 2026 intention to focus on empowerment for women and the youths of Okun land.
Akure, who disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement issued and signed by the Head of his media team, assured the people of yagba on his commitment to focus on empowerment in the new year.
According to him, Yagba youths and women deserve a special empowerment program which will capture the less privileged in the area.
He expressed worry over the situation of women and youths in Yagba land , therefore assured the people of an improved situation in the year 2026.
“Yagba women and youths deserve better in 2026. We will not leave them idle.
“This year 2026 will be a special year for youths and women empowerment in Yagba.
“We will ensure every youth and women are captured for the mega empowerment. Nobody will be left out, especially the widows and less privileged indigent,” he said.
The statement confirmed that the empowerment will be in batches and could extend throughout 2026.
Through his Humanitarian Foundation, Dr. Toyosi has in the past touched the lives of many women, youths, children, students, and People with Disabilities (PWD) among others.
BAO has supported Yagba women through financial gifts to boost their small scale businesses, awarded scholarships for students to any educational level of their choice as well as empowering people with disabilities with technical and entrepreneurship skills.
Most communities in Yagba also benefited from his infrastructure programs like provision of boreholes, solar lights, and free medical outreaches which saw over 1000 people benefited from the eye test and treatment in March 2025.
