The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf has celebrated the people of the state on the occasion of New Year Celebration.
This is contained in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed.
He wished the people a wonderful 2026, and prayed that the year heralds glad tidings that would ensure better life for them.
Rt. Hon. Umar said the outlook of the New Year shows it would be a good one for the citizens, particularly with the plans of the present administration at both federal and state levels to put necessary action in place to make life better for them.
The Speaker admitted in his message that despite all the highs recorded in 2025, the past year was replete with many challenges for both the government and governed, and expressed confidence that the new year would usher in improvement in all endeavors.
He particularly mentioned the area of security of lives and property where government has made huge investments and put in measures in securing the lives of citizens and applauded the resilience and tenacity of Kogites which has encouraged the will of the present administration to make necessary investments.
He particularly greeted Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on the occasion and said he has performed impressively in leading the state, and urged him to sustain the tempo and even do more in the new year and the years ahead.
The Speaker used the opportunity to also wish his colleagues in the Assembly and all government officials serving in the present administration and wished them a productive 2026.
