The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the State, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo has charged the leaders of the party in the five wards of Amuro in Mopamuro LGA to “spare nothing at winning convincingly” for the party in the February and March 2023 general elections.

Fanwo made the charge while hosting scores of party leaders from Amuro at a strategy meeting at his country home in Takete Ide, saying the opposition has nothing to offer to make Nigeria better.

“I know charity begins at home and that is why I have decided to start from the five wards in Amuro. Let me thank you for your hard work for the party ahead of the 2023 general elections and charge you to do more.

“Our plan is not to just win, but win convincingly. We have to contribute meaningfully to our bragging rights in Mopamuro as the mainstay of the All Progressives Congress in Yagba Federal Constituency.

“Let me send this message to the opposition: They stand no chance in 2023 as far as Amuro is concerned as our people are prepared to vote massively for all our candidates. The government of Alh. Yahaya Bello is about to start a project that will permanently annihilate opposition politics in Amuro. We remain loyal to his leadership.

“Nigeria is not what it should be yet, but we know how the present administration has set the stage for development.

“Our presidential candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has all it takes to make Nigeria a better place for all. Hon. Sunday Karimi is a candidate of justice and fairness as it is the turn of Yagba to produce the next Senator of Kogi West. Engr Folorunsho Olafemi is the best for the House of Representatives and Olawumi Jacob will make us proud as our representative in the House of Assembly.

“As party stalwarts, we are determined to ensure all our candidates win and win well in Mopamuro LGA and we are already working very hard to succeed,” he said.

When asked how the APC will survive the cries of Nigerians over the high rate of inflation and fuel scarcity, Fanwo said the economic challenges we are witnessing are not peculiar to Nigeria.

“When the opposition jubilates over issues like fuel scarcity, you will understand how ignorant they are about the global economic challenges. How much is the cost of energy in the UK and the United States? Nigeria is just having its own share of the global trend and it is only the APC candidate that has what it takes to navigate the nation out of the challenges.

“Tinubu towers above his opponents when it comes to the issue of economic management. We are not talking about those planning to privatise our seat of power and sell all our national assets. APC is still the best option despite the challenges facing the nation”, he said.

Fanwo also announced monthly salaries for the Local Government and Ward Women Leaders to enable them “function properly”, saying Women Leaders of the party for big roles to play in galvanizing local women for political action.

The strategy meeting was attended by executives of the party in Amuro, state and local government officials, party leaders and key stakeholders of the party who pledged their loyalty to the party and assured the Governor of delivering for the party.

Also, the House of Representatives of the party for Yagba Federal Constituency, Engr Folorunsho Olafemi and the House of Assembly candidate, Mr. Olawumi Jacob were accompanied to the meeting by the Executive Chairman of Mopamuro LGA, Hon. David Sunday Alumo.

The candidates promised to be good representatives if elected, assuring party faithfuls of their commitment to raise the bar of democratic representation.
