Political activist, Comrade Usman Okai Austin has purchased the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination and expression of interest forms to vie for the party’s House of Representative ticket.
Speaking with newsmen after obtaining the forms at the party’s national secretariat on Monday, Okai said the 2023 general elections offers Nigerians another opportunity to make the nation great.
Okai who seeks to represent Dekina-Bassa federal constituency of Kogi state in 2023 said he is “very sure of winning PDP primary”.
“I will win the general election come February 2023 by God grace,” he said.
On his plans for the development of Dekina/Bassa federal constituency, Okai said it would be anchored on some cardinal areas of need.
‘They are education, healthcare, roads and infrastructure development, ecological and environmental interventions, as well as youth empowerment and agricultural development,” he explained.
He described his journey into politics as one driven by the desire to change the narrative and to provide an alternative voice for the youths.
The 38-year-old aspirant regretted the fact that not too many young Nigerians, like himself, are ready to take the leap into politics but said he would see to it that such would no longer be the case when eventually elected.
