Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Yagba Federal Constituency, Kogi State, have adopted former member of the House of Representatives and deputy governorship candidate in the 2019 election, Samuel Aro, as their candidate for next month’s senatorial primaries in Kogi West zone.
In a unanimous decision at the end of deliberations at the Mopa residence of former deputy governor, Yomi Awoniyi, in Mopamuro local government area at the weekend, Aro emerged the ‘Unity Candidate’ for the Senate category of the primaries, while a former commissioner, Tolorunjuwon Faniyi was adopted as consensus candidate for the House of Representatives.
The adoption of Aro and Faniyi was contained in a statement issued in Lokoja by the Secretary, Yagba PDP Forum, Prince Philip Orebiyi.
Faniyi represented Yagba in the Green Chamber between 2003 and 2007.
The senatorial district consists of three federal constituencies, namely Yagba, Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu and Lokoja/Kotonkarfe.
Aro will slug is out member representing Kabba-Bunu-Ijumu federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf, Adeniyi Olayemi and Dino Melaye for the PDP ticket.
