The senior special adviser on political matters Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal Constituency to the Governor of Kogi State, Hon. John Aduga has formally declared to run for Kogi State House of Assembly, Ankpa 1 constituency, in the forthcoming general election.
At the declaration, John received commendation and also an endorsement from the party stakeholders, traditional rulers, and the youths, chanting, “Aduga you are the man for the job”.
Aduga, who was the former Ankpa Local Government administrator made the declaration at his country home, Ojuwo, the headquarters of suburbs II, on Thursday.
Speaking during the declaration, he said, “I decided to run for the office not because he is the most qualified, but in answering the calls of his constituents who en masse deem him fit to come and represent the constituency in the State House of Assembly”.
He promised to consolidate on the efforts of the incumbent lawmaker if by God’s grace he emerged victorious at the poll and urged all party executives and supporters to also canvass for support for Governor Yahaya Bello’s presidential bid, adding that a united and better Nigeria is possible.
On his part, the ward APC Party Chairman, Hon. Joe Adegbe. said John Aduga’s declaration came up on time and also stated that the primary election that will produce the party candidate will be free and fair, noting that the outcome will be acceptable to all because he paid his dues long before now.
He, however, urged him to go and lobby more delegates, canvass for votes, adding that it is only God that gives victory in every contest and assured that he and his Excos from Suburb II won’t let him down.
Also, the party leaders stated that he has contributed to the development of his community during his time as an administrator of the Ankpa Local Government Council.
“John needs a higher platform to do more and consolidate on the track record of the efforts of the incumbent lawmaker to better a lot of his people and offers efficient legislation that will attract more dividends of democracy for the people”.
Other APC chieftains in attendance are. Hon. Sunday Jeremiah, Councilor representing the good people of Suburb II, Alh. Ibrahim Akwu, Hon. Oslo, Hon. Iliyasu Muktar, former vice-chairman of Ankpa LG, Hon. Dauda Ejegbo, former Deputy chief of staff to the current chairman of Ankpa LGA, Market women, Youth amongst others.
