A chieftain of the Labour Party in Kogi state, Mr Eneojo Herbert Idakwo has called on all the different groups of the party and the Obi-Datti presidential project in the state to come together and work for the progress of the party and ultimately the victory of the Obi-Datti presidency in the February election.
He said that no selfish individual or group will be allowed to destroy the prevailing peace, unity and harmony in the state, especially as the people look to “consolidating on the current movement and genuine clamour for change from the old thieving stock to the new breed of emerging patriotic leaders.”
Speaking during a chat with newsmen on Thursday, Mr Eneojo emphasized the need for harmonious co-existence, inclusiveness and unity of purpose if the party must sustain its right of place as a political power house in the state.
Harping on the need to maintain the peace in the state to engender prosperity, the Labour Party chieftain called on the electorate to use the power of their PVC to send a clear message to those who feel they have everything and everybody in their pocket.
According to Eneojo, “The February election is about the harmony, peace, and unity and progress of Nigeria and Kogi state. Let us not even talk about all the years of marginalization, mis rule, mis-governance and serial bad leadership that has characterized Nigeria and specifically Kogi state.”
He said that the time has come to eschew bitterness, bickering and rancour, tow the path of sacrifice and teach the bad politicians in Kogi state a lesson by mobilizing massively for the Obi-Datti presidency and ensure victory in the coming election.
He promised to ensure he works with all groups to achieve victory for the party, noting that “what binds us together is more than what separates us”.
He expressed confidence that Kogi state will vote massively for the party come February 25 and March 11, 2023, to undo the ineptitude and insensitivity of the APC led government.
According to Eneojo, both Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti are successful business men and entrepreneurs who are conversant with the art of job creation, small and medium enterprise development and entrepreneurship to trigger the much needed wealth and prosperity that the people so much desire, assuring that Kogi state will benefit significantly from the New Nigeria Agenda of peter Obi as he moves Nigeria from consumption to production.
