The member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Idirisu Lawal has congratulated the people of his constituency and Kogite at large for witnessing a new year just as it wished them a prosperous and remarkable Year 2020.
In a statement released to the media, Lawal promised his constituents improved legislative actions in the new year, charged them to keep hope alive in spite of the political situation that threatened the political landscape resulting in a rerun election in few voting units in 2019.
Hon. Lawal said now that the rerun election has been conducted, the people of the zone should be positive in their outlook and approach.
He said with a collective hard work, sincerity of purpose from him and his people, and an enduring commitment to do the right thing always, Ajaokuta economic prospects will improve.
“The beginning of a new year offers us human beings a unique opportunity to take stock and restart our personal, social, economic or political lives with renewed vigour and passion.
“The beginning of a new year is a fresh opportunity to set new goals and review past achievements with a view to taking vital lessons and reshuffling priorities. As a constituent we have a window to increase our love for others, strengthen the bonds of unity and generally kick start life again.
“I urged people of Ajaokuta Federal constituency to join hands and support all my efforts aimed at breathing life into the economy through the revamping of Ajaokuta Steel.
“This efforts which has received the full attention of President Muhammed Buhari led Federal Government will see to the rebuilding of Ajaokuta Steel, which will in turn create jobs, and generally turn things around within a short time to enable the company assumed its true status as the Steel giant of Africa.
“I thank thousands of my supporters for keeping faith with me throughout 2019, and assured them of my continued investment in good legislative activities that will offered them good and robust legislative representation.
“No doubt, the recent strategic partnership of the Federal government with the Russian to take over the Ajaokuta Steel will significantly boost our constituent and put us on the world map again.”
