The Lokoja local government area chapter of the Nigeria Youth Coalition (NYC) has promised to mobilize youths in support of former Kogi State House of Assembly member, Hon. Suleiman Babadoko’s ambition to contest the Lokoja 1 constituency in 2019.
The group also wants Babadoko to contest on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
A statement released on Thursday by the group’s coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Salihu, urged the former legislator to seek the support all APC leaders in the state in his ambition.
He said Babadoko has the requisite knowledge of legislature to turn the tide around for Lokoja 1 constituency.
The group who described the PDP as a dead party in the state, said; “we want the former House of Assembly member to return to the APC as soon as possible so that he can participate in the fourth coming congress,” the statement read.
“He should be part of the APC congress, this will avail him a better chance to compete during the party’s primary, ahead of the 2019.
“We are ready to mobilize Lokoja youths in support of Babadoko, come 2019 elections. Lokoja youths are confident that only Babadoko is competent and experienced enough to represent the people.”
Hon. Babadoko, is the immediate past House of Assembly member that who represented the people of Lokoja 1 constituency on the platform of the PDP.
