In preparation to 2019 general elections, the state chairman of Sustainable National Party (SNP) in Kogi state, Alhaji Yaqub Zuberu has boasted of taking back power from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) under the leadership of Gov. Yahaya Bello.
According to him, APC stole the people’s mandate in 2015 without a positive act of a people oriented government, proving they are not the legitimate owners of the mandate with nothing to show for it.
“In 2015, APC didn’t win the election but because of APC’s way of doing things they have stolen the mandate of Kogites with the advent of the supplementary election and with virtually nothing good to show for it,” Zuberu said.
The state chairman said this in Lokoja while commending the entire leadership of the party.
He further reiterated that the 2019 election is never going to be business as usual with APC having a field day in perpetrating election irregularities against the wish of larger majority.
“I am telling you in confidence, Ahmed Buhari, the SNP presidential candidate down to the flagbearer of the party for State Assembly seat, Umar Farouk will receive hundred percent of Kogi people’s votes in 2019 because the present government in the State has nothing to write home about – no infrastructural development, no education, no salaries and no empowerment.
“We are ready for 2019 in Kogi state and by what the present government in Kogi are doing I want to tell you that there is no APC in the State.
“Experience has shown us that APC has never won any elections in Kogi state. With this, it has became an advantage for us going into the 2019 elections. We are politically battle ready to win the election. We have earmarked how and where they rigged elections, we have enlightened our people and we have our men on ground from unit to State level of our elections.”
He urged people to vote deceit out of the state, adding that the electorate should regard voters cards as weapons of war which everyone must have and must turn out to use when the need arise.
