Alh. Kashim Ishiaku today said his aspiration is to serve the good people of Lokoja II state constituency and not to be served.
In a chat with this reporter, Ishiaku said as a grassroot politician he believe and share the pains of his people and if given the mandate, he will create equal opportunity for all constituents and operate open door representation.
The House of Assembly aspirant from Lokoja II state constituency pledged to be transparent, fair and be just to all his constituents.
“I am aware of the game of equity, fair play operated by our leaders before now and I will, by the grace of God, uphold same. I will not abuse the mandate if given to me and I will try my possible best to bring unity of purpose amongst my constituents.
“I do know that Lokoja II is in dire need of government attention and as you are all aware, as a legislator in the state assembly, it is expected of the member(s) to make laws for well being of the citizens of the state and to lobby the Executive to attract some government projects to his/her constituency.
“It is good we place it on record that I have served in the state assembly as a staff of the assembly and at a point, I have also served as assembly committee secretary for years before my retirement from active service last month and you know what that means. I have enough experience now to perform my duties if given the mandate come 2019. I am not the best but some experience should place me ahead of others.
“I have been with you, you all know me better and am here soliciting for your support come 2019 to much dividends of democracy to our people.
“It is not yet time to unveiled our plans and promise people to make Lokoja II small London but at appropriate time, we shall do the needful,” he said.
