Women leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area on Wednesday, endorsed Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole for a second term to represent Kabba/Bunu State Constituency.
The 15 ward Women Leaders of the APC in the local government led by Kabba/Bunu APC Women Leader, Hon. (Mrs.) Grace Obamo said they were in Lokoja to express their solidarity for the Speaker based on his sterling leadership qualities and also to honor him with an award for his outstanding performances since he assumed office.
According to her, the Speaker duly earned the Award of Excellent Performance from the women group.
She stressed that the award is in recognition of his contributions towards the life of the youths, women, the party and the larger society.
“Sir, your record is unbeatable, your achievements is outstanding as Kabba/Bunu has never had it so wonderful like this, indeed you are a blessing to Kabba/Bunu, Okun Land and Kogi State at Large.
“We pray as you journey towards 2019 that the Lord will protect and guide you”.
Hon. (Mrs.) Grace Obamo while delivering her speech expressed appreciation to God for giving them Kolawole at this resourceful and critical time.
She said the award is, “In recognition of your contributions towards the life of our youths, women, widows and the less privileged.
“You have indeed shown us that you are a blessing to our land; considering the empowerment programmes, payment of school fees, training over a thousand people in business, distribution of notebooks, salaries to some youths, in short, we are proud of you”.
The women said the presentation of the award is to show that Kabba/Bunu loves him and wants him to return one more time (Lenkan Si).
The Speaker appreciated the gesture from the women, saying the award will only spur him to do more.
The Speaker promised additional special welfare for Kabba/Bunu women and immediately included them in the ongoing schedule of monthly stipends to some constituents.
In conclusion, the Speaker asked them to continue to pray for him and support the State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello for the prosperity of the entire State.
