The governorship aspiration of Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris has been endorsed by youths of Igala-Bassa land under the aegis of Kogi East Youth Network (KEYN).
Abubakar Idris, first son of former Kogi Governor Ibrahim Idris, obtained his intent form for governorship contest at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat in Lokoja two days ago.
The press secretary to Kogi East Youth Network (KEYN), Comrade Moses Ujaibe stated that the group took the critical decision at its extra-ordinary meeting held in Anyigba on July 2.
He said the group unanimously endorsed Abubakar Idris as its sole candidate for 2019 Kogi governorship race.
“The network after its thorough check discovered that Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is a man of proven integrity, popularity and charisma. We resolved that Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is the only candidate that has all it takes to rescue Kogi State from its present decay of underdevelopment and backwardness.
“The unanimous decision was taken after due consultations of stakeholders across the length and breadth of the 9 Local Government Areas in Kogi State.
“It is no longer news that Kogi State is presently under a tyrannical regime with unprecedented hardship in the land, hence the dire need to rescue the state and save the future. The youths of Kogi East have taken this bold step toward rescuing our dear state for a better tomorrow,” he said.
In his speech at the meeting, the chairman of the network, Alhaji Sadiq Yunisa from Dekina, remarked that the endorsement of Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is needful and timely.
Yunisa noted that the move is for the best interest of Kogi East and the state at large. He described Abubakar Idris as God-sent messiah who has the vision to handle the mission of leading the state out of its present decay to the promise land.
He urged the youths to unite and collectively work for the election of Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris as Governor of Kogi State come 2019.
Reacting to the development, the publicity secretary of the network, Christopher Ojogbane from Idah, maintained that the step taken by the youths of Kogi East is in the general interest of the people progress of the state. He described Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris as an epitome of integrity who believes in public interest.
He added that Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is competent enough to bring about the exodus of Kogi State from its present Egypt of hunger, hardship and oppression to the land of freedom and Eldorado.
He implored the youths to remain resolute and steadfast in their support for Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris come 2019.
In the same vine, the treasurer of the network, Mrs. Hajiya Zainab Ayuba from Ankpa, stressed that Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris remains a concerned leader that has all it takes to turn things around and transform the state to make it a better place for all and sundry hence the need for Kogi East and the entire people of the state to support the gubernatorial project of Alhaj Abubakar Ibrhim Idris in 2019.
Similarly, the grand patron of the network, Mr. Moses John from Bassa, said Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris has the knowledge, experience and the ability it takes to put an end to the regime of mediocrity and the mess of total mis-governance in the state, adding that Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris for governorship is a divine and collective project that requires all hands on deck in 2019.
He also urged the youths to remain united and committed to the project.
A community head, who is a trustee of the network, Chief Alewo Attah from Ibaji, said the mandate of Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris will usher the state into a new dawn.
He described Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris as a divine light that will soon appear to stamp out the present darkness in the state.
