Some members of Kogi state House of Assembly who were elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi state are set to dump their party for the ruling All progressive Congress in the state.
The members made this decision after they had a close door meeting with the former chairman Senate committee on FCT, Senator Smart Adeyemi.
Senator Adeyemi was said to have invited some members of the Assembly particularly those from Kogi west axis to his residence in Abuja where he enjoined them to team up with the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the interest of the people they represent.
Rumors of the mass defection of the assembly members and other top politicians who are allies of the former NUJ national President has been going round after he declared for APC last year.
Our source revealed that most of the House of Assembly members from Kogi west axis are still very loyal to the Senator of the 6th and 7th assembly.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed report suggests that the Governor of Kogi state, Alh Yahaya Bello has promised any assembly member from the PDP who agree to decamp to the APC an automatic return ticket in 2019.
Arrangements are in top gear to receive the assembly members by the top echelon of the APC within and outside Kogi State.
