It is stale to state how backward Nigeria is compared to how far we are supposed to have gone in terms of improvement in standard of living and socio-economic infrastructural development; all of these are left in the dream land.
Nigeria has one of the best theories and policies, and policy makers and developers.
The bane of our development is having people at the helm of affairs who doesn’t understand the policies, let alone interpreting same for implementation.
These people at the beginning of Nigeria, especially the Fourth Republic are mere opportunists who either got there by chance and/or force themselves over us under the guise of democracy – they dastardly got to us by taking advantage of the ignorance/illiteracy of majority Nigerians, thereby milking us dry; they neither gave room for human development, which is the main tool to salvage ourselves.
In the midst of these cruel leaders, leadership and governance, Nigerians who are tough and persevering by nature already have some of us whom have developed our human capacity as against the wishes of these power monging blood suckers in the society.
It is therefore time to salvage ourselves by putting  to work, our developed human capacity as 2019 general election approaches.
Though we have lots of ignorant, illiterate, ill-exposed, uninformed, uncivilized and underdeveloped Nigerians; we still have a handful of us who can save this country for the benefit of our unborn generation.
The entire masses ought to be exposed to intensive orientation, reorientation and sensitization of processes towards selecting and electing viable representatives of the people against all odds.
Another impediment to our development is lack of information on whom our to-be leaders are.
It is important for the masses to investigate deeply about every aspirant for respective political/public offices, make comparison and select the best. Know their personality, profile, past and plan for the future. It is not just knowing them at periphery, but having a deep knowledge of whom they really are, by probably digging into their pasts or ‘secrets’ if any. Professional Investigative Journalists can be handy in this regard.
Kudos to the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the decision of Direct Primary Elections, as it will help the choice of more populous people to be made.
Political party should be of little or no consideration as to consider these aspirants, because most political parties lacks political ideology, they are just there as part of the requirements of the constitution to clinch power.
As you read and understand this, please take the message to the uneducated in the language they will understand, we need our numbers to fight for Nigeria of our dreams.
We have to be sure of the people we are voting to represent us, credibility and competence should be the main criteria above other sentiments.
– Julius Olushola Abel,
Aspirant, Mopamuro State Constituency, Kogi State House of Assembly.
